Investment Strategy

 

We assist the Trustees to develop an Investment Policy Statement, taking into account the investment fundamentals and the current investment philosophy.

 

A significant part of this task is the need to set investment objectives in the context of the true investment needs, of all of the members; as they progress through the stages of their working lives. As time progresses, members’ investment horizons and risk tolerance changes and depending on the type of trustee investment portfolio selected, this needs to be reassessed from time to time as the fund matures.

 

 

Ongoing Investment Management and Monitoring Services

 

Ongoing management and monitoring services include assistance with:

  • constructing suitable benchmarks that reflect the investment objectives of the fund and clearly communicating these to the appointed asset managers, in the form of investment mandates;
  • appointing suitable asset managers and / or selecting appropriate investment portfolios that meet the investment objectives of the fund;
  • defining the risk budget that should be set for each individual mandate, thereby ensuring reliability in the process of allocating the available risk, in addition to the efficient allocation of resources to achieve the fund’s stated investment objectives;
  • providing a regular investment monitoring report; and
  • reviewing the investment philosophy and strategy for the fund on an ongoing and proactive basis, at least annually, but more frequently where changes or other factors require this.
